Morning Seminar
Day 1 and 2: China Challenge
China is a classic
challenge for UK business with an economy growing at 8% annually
and a current
GDP of £650bn, few
if any businesses will be unaffected by China in the coming years.
During the visit of China's Premier, Wen Jiabao, to the UK in
July this year, Downing Street announced new contracts from British
companies in China worth over $1 billion dollars and China's
remarkable economic growth will lead to the further development
of bilateral commercial ties.
This is a country to
which the UK exports £1.9bn worth
of goods and services every year. It represents a massive opportunity
for UK exporters. A business thinking about exporting to China
needs to understand how to go about this – what are the
opportunity markets? How do I start targeting China as an export
destination? What about Hong Kong? And what are the “do’s
and don’ts” of Chinese business? China Challenge
will seek to answer these important questions and explain why
you need to be thinking about including China in your business
strategy.
